The Essentials We Believe

1. About God - Theology

There is only one true God: He has revealed Himself as having always existed without any outside cause or agent bringing Him in to being (Is. 43:10). God is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind from sin and its consequences (Is 43:11).We believe God has further revealed Himself as a single eternal being (Det. 6:4) existing in three distinct inter-related persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Mat. 28:19; 2 Cor. 2:14; Jn 14:16).

2. About the BIBLE - Hagiography

The Bible is the inspired word of God, the revelation of God Himself to man; the infallible, divinely authoritative rule of faith, belief, and conduct (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Thes. 2:13; 1 Pt. 1:21. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

3. About Jesus CHRIST - Christology

The Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit (1 Jn. 5:7). This means that He too is without beginning or end (Rev. 1:8). We believe in His virgin birth (Mat 1:23), His sinless life (Heb. 7:26, 1 Pet 2:22), in his miracles (Act. 2:22; 10:38), in His vicarious and atoning death (He died in the cross as a substitute for the sins of every person), 1Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21;in His bodily resurrection (Mat. 28:6; Lk. 2:39; 1 Cor. 6:15; 15:4), in His ascension and exaltation to the right hand of the Glory of God (Act. 1:9,11, 23; 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3) in His future return to this earth, and the millennial kingdom.

4. About the Holy SPIRIT - Pneumatology

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ, John 16:7-13.All believers are entitled and called to be filled with the Holy Spirit; that is the promise of the Father to all believers. John 14:16, 17. He gives empowerment to live the Christian life, to serve, and bestows the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. (Lk 24:49; Act 1:4, 8; 2:4; 1Cor. 12:1-31).As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily, Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

5. About Human BEINGS - Anthropology

Man was created perfect, but through voluntary transgression fell and as a result was separated from God. Man’s only hope for redemption is through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Gn. 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Rom. 5:12-19; Lk. 24:47; Jn. 3:6; Rom. 10:13-15 Eph. 2:8).

6. About Salvation - Soteriology

The Salvation of man: Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death, and enslavement by sin.

Mankind’s only hope of salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the son of God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ.[The account of the crucifixion of Jesus is recounted by his contemporaries: Matthew (chapter 27), Mark (chapter 15), Luke (chapter 23), and John (chapter 19)]. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

7. End of TIME - Eschatology

  • We believe in the resurrection from death of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and the translation of the saints, is the blessed hope of all believers (Ro. 8:23; 1 Cor. 15:51-52; Thes. 4:16-17; Tit 2:13). It will be followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for 1,000 years (the Millennium), (Zec 14:1; Mat 24:27,30; Rev 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6).
  • The final judgment: There will be a final judgment where those who have died without accepting Christ’s salvation will be raised and judged according to the way they lived. Anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life will be sent to everlasting punishment. (Mat 25:46; Mk 9:43-48; Rev 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)
  • The creation of a new heavens and new earth. “According to God’s promise we look for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell and reign forever.”(2 Ptr. 3:13; Rev. 21,22).

8. Ordinances of the Church:

Grace Fellowship church recognizes Baptism in water and the Holy Communion as the only two ordinances or religious practices ordained or established by Christ Himself. (Mat 28:19; Acts 10:47, 48; Rom 6:4; 1 Cor 11:24; 25, 28).

9. Divine Healing:

Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel and is available to all believers (Mat 8:16-17; Jas. 5:14-16)
